High Point Celebrates Art & Music Month In a BIG WAY!
On Saturday, March 18th, High Point Elementary School hosted it's first annual "High Point Community Art & Music Celebration!" The school was full of friends and neighbors, snacks, live music and LOTS of art! The hallways were covered with over 1,000 pieces of student artwork. In the gym and cafeteria, there were over 30 crafters, artists, and vendors selling some of their arts and crafts. Some of the vendors included jewelers, woodworkers, knitters, painters, ceramicists, stained glass artists, and even a string artist! Not only were there artists in attendance, the Birthplace of Country Music Museum was there making harmonicas with the kids; but the most popular booth of all was the kettle corn!
The day's live music was provided by a plethora of local musicians. Some of the performers included Oscar Harris, The Holston River Boys, The King University Singers, some talented High Point alumni, and to close the evening The High Point Elementary School Choir.
The celebration was such a success, be on the lookout for news about future events that may include some red, some green, and some jingle bells!
We would like to send a special thank you to our talented music teacher Mrs. Caitlyn Lester, and our dedicated art teacher Mr. Steven Cregger, for all of their hard work to make this event so wonderful!
