The 2nd grade class demonstrated engineering and design knowledge. After listening to the book Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty, they became architects and built a tower using pumpkins and toothpicks to see how tall the tower could be without falling down.

John Battle High School is holding a Jr. Trojan Basketball Registration Day on Saturday, September 30 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The cost is $50 and children in grades K-7 are eligible. Click the advertisement poster for more details.


Mrs. Egan's first grade class at High Point Elementary has been learning about the scientific method! To practice the steps, they completed a science experiment where they cut four different varieties of apples and observed which variety turned brown the quickest in the air. The students came up with a question and hypothesis, completed the experiment, made a chart with their observations and data (on the screen behind the students), and wrote out their conclusion. They found that Red Delicious apples turned brown the quickest!
